We had these at Christmas and they were deeeeeeelicious! I had no idea they were so easy to make. They are like the biscuits at Red Lobster. Yum!
1 c all purpose flour
1 1/4 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 T butter or margarine
2/3 c milk
Preheat oven to 450'F and grease cookie sheet.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in cheese.
Cut in butter using a pastry blender or 2 knives until coarse crumbs form.
Stir milk into flour with a fork until just mixed. Do not overwork.
Drop dough in mounds 1" apart on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 450'F until firm to the touch (about 15 min).
Yield: 8 biscuits
Variation: To accompany an Italian dinner, substitute Parmesan cheese for the cheddar and add 1/2 t dried basil.
